Sukhwant Thethi is a community activist, entrepreneur and successful bank manager. Born in Punjab (India), Sukhwant completed his high school from a convent school in Jalandhar City, and then went on to complete his Bachelor of Commerce Degree. In his early life, Sukhwant’s inspiration came through helping and assisting others, as he dedicated himself to the highest standards of service for public life. This aspiration led him to enroll in the Hotel Management program from The New Delhi Institute of Management Studies, India, which he successfully completed in 1993.

Sukhwant immigrated to Canada in April 1995 and like most other new immigrants, he had to work odd jobs not related to his field of education. He started his career, gaining Canadian experience, as a production line factory worker. After obtaining a sense of stability, he moved on to his specialized field; the hospitality industry. In 1996, he worked as a bus boy at the Regal Constellation Hotel in Etobicoke. By his sheer hard work and perseverance, he earned the position of Manager - Food and Beverages in 1998. He later worked in a similar position at Hotel
Colony located in Downtown Toronto.

A career shift directed Sukhwant to the financial services field. He became a Personal Banker at TD Canada Trust and then quickly honed his financial management and people skills to rise up the ranks and become Branch Manager with TD Canada Trust  a position he currently holds.

Through his marketing strategies, in print and radio, Sukhwant has become a community personality and actively participates in fundraising activities for worthwhile causes. In his spare time, Sukhwant enjoys reading and volunteer work with local organizations. He is happily married to Rajinder Thethi and is the proud father of two young girls, Gurleen and Amarjot.
